IPTV player for Android TV and Google TV
Sony Bravia, Xiaomi Mi Box, Nvidia Shield and Chromecast with Google TV all run the same Android TV platform, so they share one setup. You install through the free Downloader app, activate by scanning a QR code, and add the playlist you already have.

Installing on Android TV and Google TV
Android TV allows installs from outside the Play Store once you grant the permission. It takes about five minutes and you only do it once.
1. Install Downloader from the Play Store
On your device, open the Google Play Store and install Downloader by AFTVnews. It is free and officially listed.
2. Allow installs from Downloader
Go to Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources and enable the switch next to Downloader. Android grants this permission per app, so enabling it elsewhere does not count. On Google TV the path is Settings → System → About, then Apps.
3. Enter the code 2175189
Open Downloader, select the URL field and type 2175189, then press Go. You can also type the full address smarttvsetup.app/tv, which fetches the same file.
4. Install the APK
When the download finishes the Android installer appears. Choose Install, then let Downloader delete the APK afterwards — the app is already installed and the file only takes up space.
5. Activate with the on-screen QR code
Open Smart TV Player. Scan the QR code it shows with your phone, complete the one-time payment there, and the licence lands on the device in seconds.
6. Add your own playlist
Choose M3U playlist and paste your provider's URL, or Xtream Codes and enter the server, username and password.
Which devices this covers
Android TV and Google TV are the same underlying platform, so one set of instructions works across them:
- Sony Bravia and other Android TV televisions from Philips, TCL and Hisense
- Chromecast with Google TV, both the 4K and HD models
- Nvidia Shield TV and Shield TV Pro — the fastest option for very large playlists
- Xiaomi Mi Box and Mi TV Stick
- Most Android TV set-top boxes running Android 7 or newer
Nvidia Shield is worth the difference
If you have a playlist with tens of thousands of entries, the hardware matters more than the software. A Mi TV Stick or a Chromecast HD has limited memory, and the first index of a very large playlist is noticeably slower there.
The Shield has far more headroom and handles 4K HEVC without breaking a sweat. Any of these devices will work, but that is the one that stays smooth with the largest sources.
Installing by USB instead
If Downloader is unavailable in your region's Play Store, you can download the APK from smarttvsetup.app/get on a computer, copy it to a USB stick and install it with any Android file manager on the device.
The unknown-sources permission still has to be granted, but to the file manager rather than to Downloader.
What you get, and what you do not
A single $5.99 payment licenses one device for life. You get live TV with groups and favourites, film and series sections with resume, an EPG built from your provider's data, subtitles, parental control and multiscreen.
What you do not get is content. There are no channels, no films, no series and no playlist in this app, and no trial source. You connect a service you already subscribe to and are legally entitled to use.
Android TV troubleshooting
The install is blocked. Unknown sources is still off for Downloader specifically. Android keeps that permission per app.
Downloader will not accept the code. It has to go in the URL box on the Home tab, not into the built-in browser. The code is numeric only.
Channels buffer. Test the same playlist on a phone over the same Wi-Fi. If it stutters there too, the limit is your provider or your bandwidth rather than the device. A 4K stream needs roughly 25 Mbit/s sustained.
The remote cannot reach a control. Some Android TV launchers mishandle focus after resuming from standby. Press Home and reopen the app.
Android TV questions
Is Smart TV Player on the Google Play Store?
You install it through the free Downloader app from the Play Store, using code 2175189. Downloader is the standard route for Android TV apps distributed outside Play, and it is officially listed.
Does it work on Chromecast with Google TV?
Yes. Google TV runs on Android TV, so the same steps apply. On Google TV the unknown-sources setting sits under Settings, System, About, then Apps.
Which Android TV device is best for large playlists?
Nvidia Shield TV. It has considerably more memory and processing headroom than a Mi TV Stick or Chromecast HD, which shows when a playlist with tens of thousands of entries is first indexed.
Can I install it from a USB stick instead?
Yes. Download the APK from smarttvsetup.app/get on a computer, copy it to a USB stick and install it with an Android file manager. You still need to grant unknown sources to that file manager.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment of $5.99 licenses one device permanently, with no renewal and no advertising.
Does it include channels or films?
No. It is a player only, shipped with no channels, films, series or playlist. You enter your own legally obtained M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials.
